What is the Hyaluronic Pen?

The Hyaluronic Pen is named after the filler that it disburses called Hyaluronic Acid. Hyaluronic Acid is a clear gooey substance that is actually produced by your body and in many living things. This clear gooey gel is found in between tissue layers, in your joints, and even in your eyeballs. As time goes on, your body produces less giving you wrinkles and saggy skin. Hyaluronic acid is what helps your skin stay hydrated, and when added to the skin, can leave the skin firmer, smoother, and more plump than ever before. 

Is Hyaluronic Acid Safe to Put in My Body?

Hyaluronic Acid is already in your body! Although the Hyaluronic Pen is a new way to provide our clientele the fabulous skin they deserve, hyaluronic acid has been used as an inject-able filler in the medical and permanent cosmetology industry for a long time. It has little to no risk of allergy due to the fact that everyone has it inside them already. As for the service itself, every service has its' risks, and we try to make you aware of everyone of those risks before any service.

So what is the Hyaluronic Pen?

Instead of using needles and injecting the hyaluronic acid, the hyaluronic pen uses a technology that is actually not so new. It's the same technology used for decades to inject diabetic people with insulin without the use of a needle. Using a small mechanical spring lever to pump the side of the pen, the technician builds up pressure within the pen. The pen is then applied to the area where the hyaluronic acid is needed, a button on the back of the pen is pushed and nano sized molecules of hyaluronic acid is injected into the very top layer of your skin. The stream of hyaluronic acid "mist" is twice as small as the smallest insulin needle manufactured. This provides you with a needle free hyaluronic acid filler without the risk of blood clots, nerve damage, bruising, swelling, it is a truly revolutionary technology that has been brought to the industry.

Why haven't I heard of this before?

At Ooh La La we strive to stay up to date with the most current technology in the beauty industry to expand our artists' spectrum and provide safe, painless, sanitary services to our clients, and this is a great example! The Hyaluronic Pen was introduced first in the European market, before making a name for itself here in North America in Fall of 2018 last year.  

I've always wanted fuller lips, but I am terrified of needles, should I be terrified of this?

Absolutely not! There are no needles needed here! No numbing agents needed either! An accurate way to describe how it might feel is like a mosquito bite. Each injection is done with the clients comfort and satisfaction in mind by a highly trained and qualified Ooh La La Team member.  Rest any worried mind your might have here, perfection is what we strive for. 

How long is a typical service? 

This service can range anywhere from 30-45 minutes, from when you walk in until you walk out. This includes client consultation. 

How many sessions is a service?

Services can be one session or possibly two, but this all depends on the client and the area the enchancement is being performed on. This will be discussed during consultation on an as need basis.

How long does it last?

One of the most important questions clients ask is how long does it last for?

Of course people differ from person to person because no one is the same, but you can expect results to last up to a year or perhaps even longer. 

What product do you use?

We use the highest quality equipment and product available for our clientele. Our 100% hyaluronic acid gel is certified Neurmis Brand with the appropriate certification papers inside each sealed box. Know that you are paying for excellence at every corner.

Can I receive Hyaluronic Pen treatments if I already have pre fillers, such as Juvaderm, in my lips already?

Yes, as we stated above, most if not all fillers on the market today use hyaluronic acid, therefore receiving hyaluronic pen treatments should not have any reaction to pre existing lip fillers. Also, the hyaluronic pen does not inject filler deep into the tissue in blobs, (which then needs to be massaged around), the same way as normal filler injections are done. It is dispersed into such a fine mist it only sits in your dermis layer of your skin, where it really belongs.
